I’m Peng Xiao, a software engineer and the founder of ZenUML, based in Melbourne. I build developer tools, contribute to the Mermaid ecosystem, and explore how AI can help us turn ideas into something we can see and understand.
The diagram-as-code tool I founded. Describe how a system works in a few lines of text, then share a clear sequence diagram in Confluence, your IDE, or the browser.
// A shared understanding starts here.
You -> ZenUML: Describe the system
ZenUML -> YourTeam: Make it visible
@return YourTeam -> You: Understand it together
A place to give an idea a shape. Diagramly turns text and images into editable Mermaid, PlantUML, and ZenUML diagrams, so the picture can keep evolving with your thinking.
The rendering engine behind ZenUML, published under the MIT licence and maintained in the Mermaid organisation. I care about tools developers can understand, extend, and make their own.
I lead product and engineering at ZenUML, working where developer tools, visual thinking, and AI meet.
Before that, I worked as a Solution Designer at National Australia Bank and as a consultant at PwC. Making a complex system easier to understand has been a thread through all of it.
